Description

Job Summary:
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for preventing, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries. This role involves working closely with athletes, coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the physical well-being and optimal performance of athletes and active individuals.
Key Responsibilities:

Injury Prevention:

  • Develop and implement conditioning and injury prevention programs.
  • Educate athletes on proper techniques, nutrition, and equipment use to reduce injury risk.

Immediate Care:

  • Provide emergency care and first aid during practices and competitions.
  • Assess injuries and determine appropriate care, including referral to medical personnel when necessary.

Rehabilitation & Treatment:

  • Design and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation, taping, bracing).
  • Monitor recovery and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, and healthcare providers.

Collaboration:

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including physicians, physical therapists, and strength coaches.
  • Attend practices, games, and travel with teams as needed.
  • This role includes the possibility of teaching a class depending on resume.

REQUIREMENTS

  • CPR/AED certification
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, exercise science, and rehabilitation techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field (Master’s preferred)

Preferred Qualification:

  • Athletic Trainer Certification

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs
