UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside seeks multiple Athletic Trainers in Pittsburgh, PA to be a part of the UPMC Orthopedics Sports Medicine team, led by world-renowned sports medicine experts, to deliver athletic training services to professional, college, and high school organizations throughout Pennsylvania. Provide evaluations, establish plan of care, and select appropriate treatment and rehabilitation interventions for musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses in accordance with the rules and regulations of the National Athletic Trainers Association Code of Ethics, BOC Standards of Professional Practice, Pennsylvania State Practice Act and Pennsylvania Rules & Regulations for Licensed Athletic Trainers, and UPMC system-wide and Athletic Training & Development department specific Policies and Procedures. Provide athletic training services, such as: injury and illness prevention; wellness promotion and education; emergent care; examination and clinical diagnosis; therapeutic intervention; and rehabilitation. Coordinate, conduct, and assist in pre-season assessments for contracted athletic organizations. Conduct physical evaluations to assess injuries, provide appropriate care, and develop and implement actionable rehabilitation plans. Develop comprehensive athletic injury prevention procedures. Collaborate with coaches to develop preseason, in-season, and off-season conditioning programs. Provide athletic training services within contractual guidelines utilizing UPMC and site-specific Written Protocol and adhering to Written Physician Agreements. Maintain, complete, and submit appropriate electronic and written incident documentation for the contracted organization per departmental policies and procedures. Participate in athletic training services and community education programming sponsored by UPMC Sports Medicine. Participate in educational training camps and outreach programs to provide medical coverage, lectures, and injury prevention screenings for sponsored organizations. Participate in professional growth and development opportunities related to the field of sports medicine.

  • May travel to unanticipated event locations throughout Pennsylvania. Locations and frequency depend on athletic schedules, sports and level of athletics.
