Location: Science and Technology Facilities Council, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Harwell, Oxfordshire
Experience an outstanding opportunity to work in experimental particle physics. As a summer placement student in the Particle Physics Department at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, you will join a dedicated team improving the High Level Trigger (HLT) software at the ATLAS or CMS experiment. You will have the opportunity to interact with people from LHCb, DUNE and other present and future dark matter detection experiments.

Responsibilities:
- Candidate will work in optimising the data collected by the CMS HLT or to develop software for the upcoming HLT upgrade in ATLAS.
- Present weekly progress with the project to line manager.
- Create a report summarising findings of the studies at the end of the project.
