We are glad you are interested in joining our team. We are looking for a seasoned Associate or Partner with experience in estate administration, probate administration and probate litigation. A book of business is a positive, but not a requirement. Job Responsibilities Communicate with shareholders, associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure matters are handled efficiently. Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is available for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff. Prepare and conduct meetings and on-going communications with clients to understand their legal concerns and needs, help provide clients with advice, weigh the possible outcomes or threats, all in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Developing arguments for representing clients in civil and administrative probate legal proceedings including controversies. Staying informed about current legislation. Building trustworthy relationships with clients and other attorneys at the firm. Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and probate returns in a timely and accurate manner. Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda. Prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings and provide advice to clients. Maintain accurate and timely records for client billing. Requirements Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following: Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school. Successful completion of the bar exam. Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required to work with clients, staff members and attorneys. Experience in using legal database and research software. Excellent communication and organization skills. Ability to work well with individuals on all levels with a high level of professionalism and graciousness. Confidentiality is of utmost importance. Detail oriented in procedures and production of work. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent writing skills including drafting and proofreading. Ability to work with a high degree of independence, discretion, and personal initiative. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
