We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home. Who The Client Is: An established trade services business delivering work across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Projects are managed end to end, from early planning through to completion, with growth driven by repeat clients, referrals, and consistent workmanship. Role Overview: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial operations for a trade-based business. This role requires advanced Xero expertise, strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping and compliance requirements, and exceptional Excel skills to support accurate reporting and reconciliation. The successful candidate will work independently, maintain high data accuracy, and deliver reliable financial information. Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end bookkeeping using Xero, including accounts payable and receivable Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy Maintain financial records in compliance with Australian GST and ATO requirements Assist with BAS preparation and reporting Use Excel extensively for reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis, including formulas and multi-sheet workbooks Support job costing, expense tracking, and profitability reporting Prepare financial reports such as P&L statements and cash flow summaries Communicate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors as required Minimum 3 years’ Australian bookkeeping experience, ideally within a trade or service-based business Proven, in-depth experience using Xero Strong understanding of Australian bookkeeping practices, including GST and BAS Exceptional Excel skills, with experience working in complex spreadsheets and formulas High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment Strong written and verbal English communication skills Work Arrangement & Expectations: This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
