Looking for Philippines-based candidates Job Role: Senior Accountant Compensation range: $1,750 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time. Who The Client Is: We are a forward-thinking accounting and advisory firm that uses cloud-based systems to deliver efficient compliance and practical financial guidance. Our work includes supporting complex structures such as self-managed retirement arrangements, alongside broader taxation, risk, and business advisory services. We take a partnership approach with our clients, acting as a trusted financial sounding board and helping them make confident decisions to build and protect long-term wealth. Role Overview: This role supports an Australian public practice by taking ownership of core accounting and compliance preparation work. It is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong Australian practice experience who can work confidently and independently in a remote environment while collaborating closely with an onshore team. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and workpapers for Australian clients Handle day-to-day accounting tasks including reconciliations, BAS preparation, and compliance support Work within the Xero ecosystem, including Xero Tax, Xero Ledger, Xero Practice Manager (XPM), and FYI Docs to manage workflows and documentation Use software tools like Ignition, Adobe PDF, MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.), and AccountKit (preferred) to support accounting and client processes Liaise with onshore accountants to clarify issues, resolve discrepancies, and meet deadlines Support the practice lead by proactively managing workload and identifying efficiency improvements 3–5 years of accounting experience, with Australian public practice experience highly preferred Strong working knowledge of Xero stack (Tax, Ledger, XPM), FYI Docs, and general accounting software Proficiency in Ignition, Adobe PDF, MS Office; familiarity with AccountKit is a plus Ability to quickly pick up processes and work effectively in a remote setup Willingness to focus on preparation and review work (no ATO lodgement responsibility) Work Arrangement & Expectations: This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
