Overview Auburn Advancement is excited to begin the search for an Auburn Giving Officer to join our philanthropy team! In this role, you will help build meaningful relationships with prospective donors, conduct discovery visits, and connect individuals with opportunities that align with their philanthropic interests while supporting Auburn University’s mission. What You’ll Do: Build and Manage Relationships: Assist in building relationships with alumni and friends of Auburn University through in-person discovery visits. Engage donors by learning their interests, sharing information about the university, and fostering long-term connections. Grow the Major Gift Pipeline: Support the development of Auburn Advancement’s major gift pipeline by qualifying prospects and referring them to appropriate areas. Assist in moving individuals toward investment in the university through thoughtful engagement and relationship building. Conduct Discovery Visits and Travel: Travel to meet with prospective donors, assess philanthropic interests, and gather insights to inform future cultivation and solicitation strategies. Execute Strategic Outreach: Maintain consistent communication through calls, emails, texts, and events. Support monthly and quarterly touchpoint strategies to ensure meaningful and ongoing engagement with donors. Responsibilities Purpose: Assist in identifying, cultivating, and supporting the solicitation of major gifts ($25,000+). Conduct discovery visits to understand donor interests and align them with university priorities, helping to deepen relationships and inform future fundraising strategies. Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Advancement and campus partners to ensure coordinated and strategic donor engagement. Foster strong internal relationships to support a unified approach to philanthropy. Innovation: Contribute to outreach strategies and engagement efforts by identifying trends and patterns in donor interactions. Support continuous improvement in how prospects are qualified and cultivated. Production: Support a portfolio of prospective donors by executing outreach strategies, maintaining engagement cadences, and contributing to pipeline development through qualification, referral, and relationship management.
