ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 7 years of working experience in a related field.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge and experience in managing: AWS Cloud infrastructure, Active Directory (AD) environment, Entra ID and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.
  • Demonstrable understanding and application of information security best practice standards and guidelines.
  • Comfortable working with 3rd parties to solve complex multi-stakeholder issues.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting, solutioning, and resolving service and operational issues, including root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain and present technical concepts clearly, and the capability to knowledge-share/mentor to cross-skill with colleagues.Familiarity with AvePoint Backup Solutions and AWS Backup is a bonus.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting Planit’s Business Systems. This is a full-time position, and we are looking for someone who is immediately available. This is a hybrid role with three days in the Parnell office, and you will be reporting to the GM of Business Systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of AWS Cloud infrastructure, Active Directory, AWS and Entra ID environments, ensuring their health, performance, and security. This includes performing regular updates, patches, and backups to maintain system integrity. Additionally, developing and implementing automation scripts to streamline identity management tasks and collaborating with other IT teams and outsourced partners to integrate identity services with other infrastructure components.
  • Provide escalation support to internal engineers as needed and offering consultancy, guidance, and support to business squads for major changes to applications, new applications, and significant upgrades throughout the lifecycle of application platforms within the virtual environment.
  • Provide leadership by coaching junior engineers and leading by example.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of backup, backup testing, and understand your responsibilities in Disaster Recovery.
  • Play a key role in Cyber Cadence meetings and the continuous improvement of our security posture.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing hands-on support alongside internal engineers based locally and offshore, focusing on BAU work to keep operations running smoothly. Act as a 3rd level escalation point to collaboratively resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures is important. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits, and assessments to identify and mitigate risks are also key responsibilities.
