NEP Australia is currently looking for an Audio & Communications Engineer (Comms Technician) with exceptional drive and work ethics, excellent interpersonal skills, and brilliant technical minds to join our Australian Team based in Eveleigh, Homebush, Scoresby or Southbank.
The principal purpose of this position is to efficiently set up, operational testing of the in-field audio/communications facilities of any field or studio project you are assigned to.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Both Riedel and RTS communications systems are used across our fleet of trucks and HUBs, and a solid and fundamental knowledge of these (or similar) Communications systems is a necessary requirement to apply for this role.
  • Basic knowledge of audio consoles, with particular focus on LAWO and Calrec.
  • A good level of Operational experience is a definite requirement, and ideally the candidate should have a good level of understanding of these devices at an Engineering level too.
  • We do a lot of sport, so weekend and evening work are a predominant part of the role.
  • Minimum 3 years of television broadcasting experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • To ensure all audio communication facilities in and around the OB compound are functioning and patched to be operationally ready by the scheduled hand-over time.
  • To liaise with the project’s Audio Director and Technical Manager to ensure you are fully briefed on the size, scope, production schedule of the in-field audio and communications facilities required.
  • Ensure the environment of the audio and communications facilities is neat and tidy and professionally presented and does not pose any danger to the public or co-workers.
