Description

Audio Hardware Application Engineers serve as the primary technical resource for the field sales force and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Acting as key technical advisors and product advocates, these engineers collaborate closely with the sales team to deliver expert guidance on complex audio system solutions, signal processing, and hardware integration.
The Audio Hardware Applications Engineer demonstrates in-depth knowledge of professional audio hardware systems and provide reliable solutions for all technical challenges to ensure complete customer satisfaction—from initial inquiry to post-sale support. Audio Hardware Applications Engineers also build and maintain strong customer relationships, supporting successful adoption and deployment of products in demanding professional environments such as broadcast, live sound, recording studios, and systems integration.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of audio-visual hardware/software (Crestron, QSC, BiAmp, Symetrix, Extron, etc.) for DSP set-up, control set-up, etc. is highly desirable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot audio, video, network, and control systems
  • Strong ability to configure and deploy complex audio systems
  • Experience with audio system event technical planning and execution
  • Results driven with solution oriented approach; competitive; and self-motivated attitude
  • Professional demeanor and good organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic with ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent customer service skills, including listening, oral and written communications
  • Advanced Skill in MS Office Applications particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Above average written and spoken communication skills
  • Applications Engineers are required to function with minimal supervision. This position requires a high degree of initiative and self-motivation.

EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience to include Computer Sciences, Software Development, or related disciplines.
  • 3 or more years’ experience as a network administrator or similar capacity
  • Maintain current industry accreditation relevant to their specialty (CTS, CompTIA, CCNA, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining network hardware, including switches and firewalls from manufacturers like Cisco, HP, and NETGEAR.
  • Experience using hardware and software specific to professional audio systems
  • Dante Certification Level 3 required
  • Q-SYS Level 1 Certification preferred
  • Programming experience preferred
