INTRODUCTION
The role will be held within the University’s interdisciplinary School of Arts and Creative Technologies (ACT). The School of ACT was established in 2022, and is a highly innovative unit which brings together research, teaching and commercial activities in the fields of interactive media, music, sound recording, film, television, theatre and the business of the creative industries.
Our music element provides a number of technical courses and high-specification facilities. We have two well specified music venues, the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall and Rymer Auditorium and five music recording studios with analog and digital recording equipment.
We also have a large collection of recording equipment, instruments and microphones.
A motivated and enthusiastic person is needed to help provide technical support and maintenance in our facilities. You will be working closely with students, academic staff and external artists, and will be able to offer support in a number of different fields.
The ideal candidate will have experience with event technologies such as mixing desks, PA equipment, lighting, video, audio recording and editing systems, PC and Mac-based audio visual software, hardware and networks. We are looking for a proactive and supportive colleague with a proven track record for good, all round technical knowledge, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
We recognise the many benefits of a diverse workforce and are committed to ensuring an inclusive place to work. We particularly encourage applications from women and members of minority groups, who are underrepresented across the School as a whole.
We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements (e.g. part-time working, job share etc.), with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion web page
