Description:Phoenix Systems is growing and we are looking for an experienced Audio/Video installation technician to join our amazing team. Candidates should be self-motivated, personable and of good character. You should be passionate about custom electronics and all about providing world class service to our high-end clients.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, and remote controls.
- Identify and repair security system malfunctions and false alarms
- Troubleshoot and repair existing wiring installed for Phone/Data/Intercom/Security/WAP’s/Basic Audio/Cameras/etc.
- Learn and understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (2Gig, DSC, QOLSYS, Etc.)
- Handle installation of networking requirements for Routers, Switches, DVR’s, Network Components, WAP’s, etc.
- Learn and understands monitoring protocol with Phoenix/Monitoring Station/Primary Responders for alarms
- Communicate with customers to review work orders,
- Provide instruction/training to customers/end user on the system functions and operations
- Accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components
- Handle after hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis)
- Communicate pricing for monitoring rate tiers to customers
- Install, setup and train homeowners on AV component packages.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Security/AV Installations required
- Have in depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
- Understands cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
- Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
- Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
- Clear MVR required
- Technical or Vocational related schooling is preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
- Frequent use of step ladders and extension ladders
- Frequent amount of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
