IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Proven experience in residential home automation and AV systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Control4 and Lutron; Crestron desirable
  • Proficiency in rack building and cable management best practices
  • Good understanding of IP networking principles (routers, switches, VLANs, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • A logical, methodical approach and pride in your workmanship
  • Comfortable on-site and able to work solo or as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Home Automation Engineer at Hestia, you’ll be hands-on in the design, installation, commissioning, and programming of smart home systems. You’ll be working closely with the design and delivery team to ensure every rack, every interface, and every line of code serves the user experience.
You’ll need a solid foundation in networking and home automation platforms, and an eye for tidy, robust engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and deploy home automation systems using Control4, Lutron (and ideally Crestron)
  • Build, wire and configure AV and control system racks to a high standard
  • Interpret and contribute to system schematics, wiring diagrams and infrastructure layouts
  • Commission and programme systems (Control4 Composer, Lutron HomeWorks/QSX, etc.)
  • Conduct testing, fault-finding and troubleshooting during and post-install
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors confidently and professionally
  • Manage small projects or phases independently with oversight from senior team
  • Maintain thorough documentation throughout project lifecycle
