We are looking for a hands-on, innovative Audio/Visual Equipment & Automation Specialist to bring technical expertise and creative problem-solving to our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on tackling challenges, experimenting with new ideas, and making attractions come alive through sound, light, automation, and interactivity.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with automation platforms (Crestron, PLCs, or similar).
  • Knowledge of CCTV administration (hardware maintenance, data retrieval).
  • Familiarity with networking equipment (especially Ubiquiti).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in audio, video, and automation hardware.
  • Hands-on wiring and installation experience (CCTV, Ethernet, low-voltage).
  • Strong communication skills (able to explain complex tech in simple terms).
  • Creative problem-solving and prototyping abilities.
  • Ability to design practical, cost-effective systems for interactive scenes.

DESIRED SKILLS (A PLUS, NOT REQUIRED)

  • Hosting/domain management (Bluehost, GoDaddy).
  • Photo editing (Photoshop, GIMP).
  • Video editing (Adobe Premiere, Kdenlive).
  • Experience with lighting control (Enttec S-Play, sACN, Art-Net).
  • Digital marketing basics (Google Ads, SEO, social media).
  • User permissions and platform administration.
Responsibilities

THE REALITIES OF THE ROLE

This isn’t a standard desk job — it’s a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires adaptability and resilience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize A/V hardware including amplifiers, sound systems, automation controls (Crestron, PLCs), projectors, relays, pneumatics, and CCTV equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance to keep systems running smoothly.
  • Develop and fine-tune automation programs (SIMPL Windows, Function Block, or Ladder Logic).
  • Collaborate on the design of haunted house scenes, escape room puzzles, and other immersive attractions.
  • Install, maintain, and support network equipment (especially Ubiquiti).
  • Operate, install, and troubleshoot CCTV systems.
  • Research, source, and track specialized equipment for unique projects.
  • Balance multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and high-quality results.
  • Implement communication protocols (Serial, MODBUS, Wi-Fi, hardwired networking).
  • Safely operate and maintain tools for installation and maintenance tasks.
