Job Description Position Summary The Audio‑Video Technician is responsible for delivering exceptional technical support and seamless operation of all audio, video, lighting, and multimedia systems within the hotel. This role ensures the successful execution of high‑profile events, conferences, VIP meetings, weddings, and daily multimedia needs while upholding the hotel’s luxury service standards. The AV Technician must maintain a polished presence, respond promptly to guest and event requirements, and ensure all systems operate at the highest quality. Qualifications Event Support & Operation Set up, operate, and dismantle audio‑video equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and corporate events. Ensure flawless execution of events by providing real‑time AV support with a service‑oriented mindset. Coordinate closely with Banquet, Events, Front Office, and Sales teams to ensure guest requirements are delivered with excellence. Support VIP functions and high‑level presentations with precision and discretion. Equipment Setup & Technical Operation Install and configure sound systems, mixers, microphones, speakers, projectors, LED screens, cameras, and lighting systems. Operate advanced video conferencing systems (Teams, Zoom, Cisco, etc.) for hybrid and virtual events. Set up simultaneous translation systems and assist interpreters during multilingual conferences (if applicable). Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform daily preventive checks on all AV equipment in meeting rooms, ballrooms, lounges, and public areas. Troubleshoot audio distortion, video display issues, cable faults, lighting irregularities, or system connectivity problems. Maintain and update AV inventory, including cables, accessories, batteries, adapters, and replacement parts. Ensure all AV equipment is clean, well‑maintained, and ready for immediate use. Technical Support & Guest Assistance Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests, clients, event planners, and internal departments. Train hotel staff on the proper operation of meeting room technology and guest‑facing AV tools. Maintain professional grooming and behavior in line with hotel service standards. Installation & Upgrades Assist in installing new AV systems, structured cabling, speakers, monitors, and lighting fixtures. Support engineering and IT teams during system upgrades, renovations, or ballroom AV enhancements. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate logs of setups, incidents, repairs, and maintenance activities. Report major technical failures and recommend sustainable solutions and upgrades. Ensure all storage areas and AV rooms are organized and compliant with safety standards. Qualifications Diploma or Certification in Audio‑Video Technology, Electronics, IT, or related field. Minimum 2–4 years of AV experience in a luxury hotel, resort, event venue, or similar environment. Strong knowledge of professional sound systems, mixers, lighting boards, and video equipment. Experience with ballroom AV setups and high‑end event operations is essential. Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, AMX, or similar AV control systems is an advantage. Strong English communication skills; additional languages are beneficial. Work Schedule Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays depending on event schedules.
