In a commercial setting—such as offices, conference centers, higher education, or retail environments—the AV Level 2 Technician ensures systems are professionally installed, fully functional, and client-ready.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2–4 years of experience in commercial AV installation or support roles.
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow and system components.
  • Comfortable using test equipment and basic hand/power tools.
  • Familiarity with commercial AV systems (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Shure, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and scope-of-work documents.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • OSHA certification, CTS certification, or manufacturer-specific training is a plus.
    Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.
    Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
