Description
This dual-focus role provides specialized technical support for the Media Department while serving as a core member of the school-wide AV team. The successful candidate will split their time between empowering students and teachers in media production and ensuring the seamless execution of large-scale international school events. Key Responsibilities 1. Media Department Support (Department-Specific) Instructional Support: Assist teachers in delivering media curriculum by demonstrating the proper use of professional cameras, lighting rigs, and sound recording equipment to students. Post-Production Guidance: Provide technical assistance with industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve) for student projects and coursework. Equipment Management: Manage the department’s equipment lending library, ensuring all gear is tracked, maintained, and returned in good working order. Studio Operations: Maintain and set up the media studio/green room for daily lessons and specialized student broadcasts. Examinations: Be responsible for the upload and transfer of examination and coursework submissions Co and extracurricular: Support the administration of all co-curricular departmental activities and where possible lead on at least one co-curricular option in own area of expertise Promotional materials: Create and produce media and promotional materials to promote the profile of Creative and Performing Arts achievements. 2. Whole-School Event Support (Team-Based) Live Event Execution: Collaborate with the wider technician team to set up and operate sound, lighting, and video systems for assemblies, concerts, theater productions, and graduation ceremonies. Broadcasting & Streaming: Lead or assist in the multi-camera live streaming of school events to global parent communities. Staging & Rigging: Safely install temporary AV infrastructure, including microphones, projectors, and LED walls, for diverse event venues across the campus. 3. General AV & IT Infrastructure Classroom Tech: Troubleshoot and maintain classroom AV hardware, such as interactive displays and wireless mirroring systems (e.g., Vivi or Apple TV). Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on all school-wide AV assets. Training: Conduct workshops for staff and students on new AV technologies to enhance digital literacy across the school. Qualifications & Skills Education: A degree or diploma in Creative Media Production, Sound Engineering, or a related field. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in digital mixers (e.g., Dante/NDI systems) and lighting consoles. Strong knowledge of signal flow for both audio and video. Proficiency in video editing and production software. Soft Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical teachers and students. Proficient in English. Excellent problem-solving skills under the pressure of a live event. Strong collaborative spirit for working within a diverse international team. Working Conditions Schedule: Standard school hours with a requirement for flexibility to support evening and weekend events (e.g., theater performances, parent evenings). Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work at heights on ladders or lifts for equipment installation.
