JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Audio-Visual Technician to join our expanding Audio-Visual team at one of the nation’s leading technology solutions providers. In this role, you will be stationed at our client site in Pflugerville, Texas, where you will take full responsibility for Audio Visual installations, commissioning, and ongoing support of AV systems. You will collaborate closely with AV Engineers, Designers, and Programmers to deliver high-quality and reliable AV systems that facilitate modern collaboration and communication.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in AV installation, support, or related technical field
  • Knowledge of Shure, AV Pro, and Q-SYS.
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, including Crestron, Extron, Cisco, Poly, and Zoom Rooms
  • Clear understanding of networking concepts and AV-over-IP technologies
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The position requires the employee to sit for extended periods, as well as to stand, walk, climb ladders, carry equipment, bend, kneel, crawl, reach, push, and pull. Additionally, the employee must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. daily.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and commission AV equipment, including projectors, displays, speakers, microphones, video conferencing systems, DSPs, and control systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of audio and video signal flow, projection scaling, and audio gain structures.
  • Manage technical work in the field with minimal supervision.
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting of AV systems to identify and resolve issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Provide ongoing onsite maintenance and support for installed AV systems, including software updates, firmware upgrades, and hardware replacements.
  • Generate detailed reports documenting installation activities, troubleshooting efforts, and maintenance services.
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to verify that installed systems meet client expectations and project requirements.
  • Perform basic programming and configuration of AV systems and components.
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, system schematics, and building diagrams.
  • Perform cable rough-in, terminations, labeling, and structured cable management.
  • Safely operate ladders and lifts; perform overhead work in construction environments.
  • Apply knowledge of construction techniques relevant to AV installation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and service calls.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company policies, and client requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients and team members, providing updates and technical guidance.
  • Comply with all safety and security protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
