Description Overview The Audiology Assistant at LACHB is responsible for helping maintain the flow of the Hawthorne clinic as a whole. Through supporting the Doctor of Audiology, the Assistant can hone their skills while providing care and training to LACHB patients at a fast pace. Key duties include: Essential Job Duties Manage Clinic schedule (HAF,HAR,EMF,HAE,AE) Become proficient at testing protocols and testing equipment, including DTLA and Glendale locations Manage stock of HAs/chargers, receivers, and domes / ear tips. Restock any audiology supplies (impression cartridges, dams, etc) needed for the office and run it through Dr. Thakkar Sanitize the sound booth, chairs, audio equipment. Input stock HAs/chargers into Counselear (specific Audiology software) Help with VNGS Keep track of PT warranty dates Keep track of PT trial period expiration dates Prep a day before for fittings (charge the HAs, charger, purchase agreement, receiver in R/L, and color markings Blue/Red) Assist with ENT walk ins in the office that include clean, check/repair, reinstructing Register PT HA warranty with the manufacturer through the portal Assemble new equipment for the office Help Dr. Thakkar with hearing tests and follow up appointments Run audiological evaluations, which include tymps, reflexes, OAE’s, and submit reports for Dr. Thakkar’s revision / approval. Install/update fitting software (resound, starkey, rexton, signia, oticon) in Noah Sanitize audio equipment at the end of the day in metricide/wavicide (otoscope specula, OAE tips, Tymp tips,etc) Charge the otoscope batteries when needed, replace otoscope batteries/bulbs Try to maintain the sound booth, HAF room, HAE room cleanliness Request any supplies/audio equipment from the ENT supplies lead Type chart notes for walk ins (HAR/clean & check), and follow-up visits. Perform hearing aid orientation after Dr. Thakkar is done with the initial fitting File loss and damage claim forms for HAs Package and schedule pick up for HAR’s Keep track of what is being sent out (HAR,RFC,EIs) Requirements Qualifications and Experience To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are reflective of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. HS Diploma/ GED Required Audiology specialty clinic experience preferred Must be bilingual-fluent in both English and Spanish preferred General knowledge of HIPAA and CPT codes Must be able to travel within our various Los Angeles based clinics Excellent communication skills with patients, physicians, and staff Excellent organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills Ability to work in a relatively unsupervised environment with a high degree of accuracy Ability to operate various office equipment necessary to perform job functions Team player with a pleasant attitude towards the practice of medicine Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
