Position Summary: The Audiovisual (AV) Technician - II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual systems that support a variety of business functions. This role ensures the seamless operation of AV equipment used for meetings, conferences, and digital communications. The technician works closely with clients and team members to assess AV needs and deliver reliable, high-quality installations and support. Key responsibilities include setting up and maintaining 70V PA systems, TV/RF distribution systems, and digital signage. The Audiovisual (AV) Technician - II plays a vital role in creating engaging and professional environments for end users, contributing to the overall success of AV operations and client satisfaction. SKILLS & CORE STRENGTHS * Audiovisual system installation and support * Construction-style jobsite experience * AV/IT trade tools and equipment use * Technical troubleshooting and diagnostics * System testing and verification * 70V PA systems, displays, and projection systems * RF/TV distribution and digital signage * Cable pulls, terminations, and equipment mounting * Reading and interpreting drawings and work orders * Documentation and record set markups * Team collaboration and jobsite communication * Time management and task prioritization * Safety awareness and OSHA-aligned practices WHAT YOU’LL DO * Install AV equipment including speakers, displays, projectors, screens, and related hardware * Perform wire pulls, terminations, equipment mounting, and system assembly per project documentation * Support setup and configuration of 70V PA systems, RF/TV distribution, and digital signage * Test systems after installation to confirm performance and functionality * Perform diagnostics, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting as needed * Read and interpret project drawings, scopes of work, and work orders * Maintain and mark up record set drawings to reflect field changes * Communicate job progress, changes, and issues to the Foreman or Project Manager * Protect equipment, materials, and interior finishes throughout the project lifecycle * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area * Gather equipment manuals and close-out materials at job completion * Attend jobsite coordination and safety meetings as required * Support overall project completion in alignment with schedules and quality standards * Participate in training and maintain required certifications What We’re Looking For * High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred * Minimum of 4 years of AV/IT technical support or field engineering experience * Strong hands-on experience commissioning and troubleshooting AV systems * Proficiency with Windows and Apple operating systems * Experience configuring audio, video, and conferencing systems * Working knowledge of control systems, DSPs, and AV networking * Familiarity with communication protocols (IP, RS232, RS485, USB) * Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system designs * Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills * Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently in the field Certifications: * Ability to obtain AVIXA CTS within one year of hire * Ability to obtain CompTIA A+ (or equivalent) within one year of hire ABOUT US Avidex is a leading AV/IT integration company delivering innovative technology solutions across corporate, healthcare, education, and enterprise environments.
