JOB OVERVIEW – ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Location: Caring@Home, Southampton
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role is vital in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes.
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a passion for financial management, and familiarity with Birdie’s technology and services, helping us streamline our operations and deliver outstanding care.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with specific platforms is an advantage).
  • Knowledge of internal audit practices and financial management principles.
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to work effectively across departments.
  • Familiarity with Birdie’s technology platform and its application in care services (desirable).
Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update financial records using accounting software, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with company policies.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions within the finance team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to collect financial data for analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights from financial analysis.
