JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Audit and Compliance Officer to join our committed team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organisation adheres to all relevant laws, regulations and internal policies. This will involve conducting risk assessments, performing internal audits, monitoring compliance to identify and mitigate potential issues, together with providing guidance on best practices.
 Key Tasks
Key tasks include keeping up- to- date with regulatory changes, educating employees on compliance matters, investigating irregularities, reporting findings to management and developing strategies to prevent non-compliance.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:  A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field like finance, law, or business administration is often required.
  • Industry Knowledge:  Thorough knowledge of industry-specific laws, regulations and standards.
  • Analytical Skills:  Strong ability to analyse data, identify risks and interpret complex regulatory information.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to report findings, train employees and liaise with different departments and management.
  • Attention to Detail:  Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in audits and reports.
  • Integrity:  Upholding transparency, honesty and ethical principles in all interactions.
    The salary will be dependent on experience and pro-rata on agreed hours.

    Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
    Pay: £24,176.77-£39,139.16 per year
    Expected hours: No less than 24 per week

Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay informed about and interpret new laws, regulations and industry standards that affect the organisation.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to understand and identify potential compliance risks within the organisation.
  • Internal Audits: Perform internal audits to check adherence to company policies and external regulations.
  • Policy Development & Review: Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures.
  • Reporting: Document findings from audits and assessments and report on current compliance performance to management.
  • Employee Education: Advise and educate employees on legal requirements, company policies and the consequences of non-compliance.
  • Issue Investigation: Investigate any instances of non-compliance or irregularities and help find solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities.
  • Risk Mitigation: Help implement preventative and corrective measures to reduce risks and improve compliance controls.
  • Material Review: Review marketing materials, websites and other company communications to ensure they comply with regulatory requirements.
