SPA has an immediate need for an Audit Associate - IT & Compliance.
Responsibilities:
This candidate will support federal IT audit and FFMIA compliance engagements, working closely with clients to assess internal controls, support audit remediation, and ensure alignment with federal frameworks. This role demands deep expertise in IT control environments—including NIST, ITGC, ITAC, COBIT, and ISO 27001—as well as a strong understanding of federal financial reporting standards such as OMB and FASAB. You’ll apply your knowledge of DoD and Army Financial Management to evaluate financial systems, identify compliance gaps, and implement corrective actions. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in remote work settings, including leading virtual meetings, managing project workflows, and collaborating across distributed teams.
Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related discipline
• 1-3 years of experience with IT control frameworks such as NIST, ITGC, ITAC, COBIT, and ISO 27001, plus a strong understanding of federal financial reporting standards (OMB, FASAB) and audit compliance requirements
• Familiarity with DoD/Army Financial Management practices and systems
• Proven success in remote work environments, including strong communication skills, use of virtual project management tools, and facilitation of virtual meetings and workshops
• Active DoD SECRET clearance with ability to maintain

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• One or more of the following certifications preferred: CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM, or CDFM
