Roles & Responsibilities
Audit Execution
- Plan, execute, and finalize statutory and internal audit engagements across a portfolio of clients.
- Develop audit programs, risk assessments, and materiality thresholds for each engagement.
- Ensure engagements comply with ISA, IFRS, and applicable UAE regulatory requirements.
- Identify areas of financial and operational risk and recommend improvements to internal controls.
Team & Engagement Management
- Lead and supervise audit teams, including reviewing working papers and ensuring quality control standards aremet.
- Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and staffing allocation.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior auditors and associates.
Client Relationship Management
- Liaise directly with client management to discuss findings, resolve issues, and present audit reports.
- Manage day-to-day communication with assigned clients.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of services.
Regulatory & Technical Awareness
- Stay current on regulatory changes affecting the UAE audit environment (e.g., Corporate Tax, VAT, ESR).
- Research and apply relevant standards, laws, and regulatory guidance to engagements.
Business Development
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client relationship management.
- Identify opportunities to provide additional audit, tax, and advisory services.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and ISA.
- Proficiency in audit software (e.g., CaseWare, IDEA) and MS Office.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and client-relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic is an advantage.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification: CA / ACCA / CPA (or equivalent) required.
Experience
- Minimum 6–8 years of audit experience, including at least 2–3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
- Prior experience with a Big 4 or reputable mid-tier audit firm preferred.
- UAE market experience strongly preferred.
