Description

ePeople is partnering with a respected London accountancy practice with a strong footprint across the creative industries, particularly television and broader media. You will lead fieldwork on statutory audits, own day-to-day client relationships, and mentor juniors, while building specialist depth in the media ecosystem. The firm promotes from within; the intention is for this hire to step into Audit Manager once you have embedded the firm’s culture, systems, and approach.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 4 years’ external audit experience, including at least 1 year post-qualification (ACA/ACCA).
  • Sector exposure to media and ideally TV (production, post, distribution, advertising, or rights management). A genuine interest in continuing in this space is essential.
  • Sound technicals across UK GAAP/FRS 102 and ISAs; comfortable leading sections or whole audits, and reviewing junior work.
  • Good exam record (the odd resit is fine); evidence of continual professional development.
  • Background fit: for this brief, candidates from mid-tier or boutique firms are preferred.
  • People skills: personable, sociable, and confident in client-facing settings; you enjoy being in the office with your team and on-site with clients when needed.
  • Tools: fluency with common audit software and working papers; comfortable with data extracts, portals, and Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead audits under UK GAAP and ISAs from scoping through completion, balancing a portfolio of media/TV engagements with some non-media assignments.
  • Tailor audit strategies for media clients (e.g., production and distribution revenue recognition, multi-episode contracts, deferred income, cost capitalisation for content, royalties/participations, and project WIP).
  • Coach and review the work of trainees and seniors; raise quality, resolve issues early, and keep files inspection-ready.
  • Draft and review statutory accounts (FRS 102), group reporting packs, and clear management letters with practical recommendations.
  • Run the engagement: budgets, timelines, WIP, and stakeholder updates—keeping Partners, clients and team aligned.
  • Strengthen client relationships through confident, personable on-site presence—meeting production teams, finance managers and founders; representing the firm professionally.
  • Contribute to improvement: knowledge sharing, methodology updates, and light involvement in proposals when relevant
