JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Auditor, Freight Audit & Payment to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and processing freight invoices submitted by carriers. This includes utilizing automated systems as well as manually auditing invoices flagged with discrepancies. You will collaborate closely with the operations team and other internal departments to resolve issues, ensure billing accuracy, and maintain timely and accurate payments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in freight auditing, accounts payable, logistics, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with freight audit systems preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and audit freight invoices submitted by carriers for accuracy and compliance with contractual rates and terms.
  • Review and process invoices using automated systems and tools.
  • Investigate discrepancies and validate questionable charges by coordinating with internal operations teams and external carriers.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all invoice audits and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Finance, and Procurement to resolve invoice-related issues.
  • Identify trends in discrepancies and recommend process improvements to reduce future issues.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation as needed.
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews by providing necessary documentation and insight.
