POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientedJunior Auditorto support independent analysis and oversight functions within the federal accounting cycle. This role involves preparing financial reports, assessing compliance with government standards, and providing technical assistance to federal leadership. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in federal financial management and a strong understanding of accounting systems and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS)in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experiencein auditing or financial analysis, preferably within a government or public sector environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal financial reporting and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supporting federal agencies or large-scale government financial programs.
  • Familiarity with audit software and financial management systems.
  • Progress toward professional certifications such asCPA,CIA, orCISAis a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a team leader or senior accountant on audit engagements focused on federal financial operations.
  • Ensure timely submission and proper formatting of financial reports in accordance with federal standards.
  • Provide sound recommendations and technical assistance to senior federal leadership regarding systems improvements and accounting treatment of financial transactions.
  • Assess financial processes and procedures for compliance with:
  • Government accounting standards
  • Internal controls
  • Multi-tiered system application standards
  • Advise staff and federal officials on financial systems procedures, reporting requirements, and other financial management needs.
