Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a seasoned electrical professional with a passion for safety, compliance, and leadership?
We’re looking for a highly skilled Electrical Authorising Engineer (AE) to take charge of electrical safety and compliance across our non-regulated business units.
In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure the safe operation, maintenance, and control of HV/LV electrical systems. You’ll also be responsible for appointing and auditing electrical personnel, reviewing safety documentation, and providing expert technical guidance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the appointed AE for non-regulated business units.
  • Review and approve electrical safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Audit and assess the competence of APs, SAPs, and CPs.
  • Ensure compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS 7671.
  • Provide expert advice on electrical safety, design, and operations.
  • Lead or support investigations into electrical incidents.
  • Maintain and update Electrical Safety Rules and documentation.
  • Liaise with contractors and internal teams to ensure safe operations.
  • Deliver training and mentoring to electrical staff.
