JOB DESCRIPTION:

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Authorities Liaison Architect to join our team. The Authorities Liaison Architect will be responsible for ensuring that our projects comply with all local laws, regulations, codes, and standards set forth by governmental bodies and other regulatory authorities. This role requires a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field.
  • Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
  • Deep understanding of relevant local laws, regulations, codes, and standards related to architecture and construction.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and applications.

Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, codes, and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Permitting: Manage the process of obtaining necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies, including preparing and submitting permit applications, coordinating with authorities, and addressing any concerns or modifications required for approval.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all regulatory requirements, permits, approvals, and correspondence with authorities throughout the project.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess potential regulatory risks associated with the project and develop strategies to mitigate them, including identifying compliance issues, evaluating their impact, and proposing solutions.
  • Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and regulatory agencies, facilitating communication, coordinating meetings, and providing updates on regulatory matters to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor regulatory developments and updates that may impact the project, and communicate relevant information to the project team. Prepare regular reports on regulatory compliance status and any issues encountered during the project.
  • Consultation: Provide guidance and advice to the project team on regulatory matters, including recommending design changes or alternative approaches to ensure compliance since the inception of the project.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve disputes with regulatory agencies or other stakeholders regarding compliance issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and improve processes related to regulatory compliance and permitting to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
