The Clinical Pharmacy Management team is growing and looking to hire an Authorization Coordinator I role. This role will work remote and the ideal candidate will live in the PST or MST timezone.
The Authorization Coordinator I reviews and processes formulary exception requests through the determination process based on clinical criteria/guidelines. The Clinical Pharmacy Management Team is an integral part of the Clinical Enterprise Department, whose charter is to “create the future of healthcare, by innovating clinical practice design, improving quality of care, service, and life.”

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma Required - Associates Preferred
  • Current Registered Pharmacy Technician Required
  • 2 years of experience working in a pharmacy or other healthcare setting Required
  • Excellent MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Excel Required
  • Previous experience working in prior authorization - Preferred
  • Ability to travel 10% as needed
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate effective operational workflow while performing complete, accurate and consistent reviews of all formulary exception medication or product requests; including review of appropriate labs and supporting documentation against pharmacy clinical criteria/ guideline, which involves referral/escalation of requests, when appropriate, to clinical experts with appropriate recommendations. Utilize appropriate approval and denial language on approval and denial messages and provide alternatives based on clinical guidelines.
  • Communication with facilities:
  • Maintain on-going communication with facility teammates, resolve technical processing issues, and escalate all outstanding issues including drafting written responses, correspondence, emails, and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Ensure that current and accurate communication with facility teammates occurs in a clear, timely and concise manner.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by Clinical Operations management or its partners
