About Us Sunflower Development Center is a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy practice providing high-quality ABA, Speech, and Occupational Therapy services in a supportive, collaborative environment. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented part-time Authorization Specialist to support our growing clinical teams. Position Summary The Authorization Specialist will complete and track ABA, Speech, and OT prior authorizations across multiple payers as well as check and verify eligibility. This is a part-time hybrid position with on-site training in Raynham followed by some remote flexibility. Ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and enjoys working behind the scenes to keep clinical services running smoothly. Responsibilities Submit, monitor, and renew prior authorizations for ABA, Speech, and OT services Work within payer portals (Carelon, MassHealth POS, Optum, BCBS, MGB, and others) Review documentation for accuracy before submission Maintain an organized authorization tracking system and monitor expiration dates Communicate professionally with insurance payers, staff, and families Manage denials or requests for additional information Ensure compliance with payer-specific requirements and internal procedures Check and verify eligibility/coverage on a daily basis Protect client privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance Qualifications Prior authorization experience in healthcare required Experience with ABA, Speech, or OT authorizations strongly preferred Familiarity with payer portals: Carelon, MassHealth, Optum, BCBS, etc. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication Ability to work independently and follow through on deadlines Experience in pediatric outpatient or ABA agency setting a plus Schedule & Hours Part-time position (approximately 15–20 hours per week) Flexible scheduling (Monday–Friday) On-site training required; hybrid remote options available after training
Responsibilities
