Description Now Hiring – Authorizations Specialist Location: Enfield, CT – On-site (9 Cranbrook Blvd. ) Status: Full time Schedule: Monday - Friday Radiology Associates of Hartford is Central Connecticut’s premier radiology group. Job Summary: The Authorizations Specialist is directly responsible for obtaining medical authorizations for scheduled and non-scheduled procedures to ensure appropriate reimbursement for patient procedures. Obtains authorizations in a timely manner to avoid cancelled and rescheduled appointments. Monitor work queues efficiently and accurately. Balance speed with accuracy to ensure timely authorizations. Adheres to all facets of compliance in the authorization process. Contact insurance companies, or utilize web-based insurance resources, to obtain authorizations for medical procedures. Contact referring physician offices to obtain authorizations when applicable. Requirements Required: High School Diploma or GED Required: 1-2 years of practical medical office and authorizations experience. Required: Medical and insurance terminology knowledge. Preferred: Radiology industry experience. Background/experience with personal computers and software related to medical billing operations.
