Description
Working within the Hamilton-Niagara Region, the Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist will provide consultation, planning, training and development/distribution of resource materials to school board personnel working with autistic children through the Connections for Students process. The consultant will work collaboratively with OAP services providers, school board personnel, and families to support school attendance. 1. Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Social Sciences; Psychology preferred 2. Minimum of three years experience working with individuals with Autism and their families 3. In-depth knowledge of Applied Behavioural Analysis 4. In-depth knowledge and experience in community based services and consultation 5. Awareness of Ministry of Education special education policies and procedures 6. Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written 7. Good problem solving skills 8. Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle 9. Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process 10. Fluency in French is preferred 11. Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)
