The Center of Technology serves approximately 500 students primarily from the following high schools: Biddeford, Old Orchard Beach, Thornton Academy, and the Kennebunks..
Our school offers coursework in the following career clusters: Business Studies, Career Exploration, Computer Technology, Career Exploration and Development, Engineering and Architectural Design, Auto Technology, Residential Carpentry, Electrical Technology, Manufacturing, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Plumbing and Heating, Culinary Arts and Hospitality,Teaching and Education, and Medical/Health Occupations.

Qualifications:

  • Maine DOE Certification eligibility # 808
  • ASE/I-CAR Certification preferred
  • Valid DOE fingerprinting certificate
  • Three years work experience in the autobody and collision field
  • A practical knowledge of industrial, technical, and business operations, together with first-hand knowledge of career and technical education/standards is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
1. Provides learning opportunities in the auto body repair field based on the occupational standards determined by the Maine DOE/CTE.
2. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to provide customized, small and large group instruction.
3. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to create a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
4. Regularly assesses each student’s academic and social growth, maintains appropriate and timely records, and prepares progress reports.
5. Communicates with parents through in-person conferences and other means such as newsletters, email, phone calls, student information system postings (as applicable), web pages, and other electronic means to discuss the student’s progress as it relates to the curriculum.
