As our Auto Electrical Mechanic/Workshop Technician, you will provide exceptional service by undertaking the repair and maintenance of trucks and heavy trailers, construction and quarry machines, road paving and milling machines, as well as utes, cars, and light trailers. You will collaborate with fitters, mechanics, and operators to understand issues and ensure the smooth operation of fleet and plant equipment across various sites. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining detailed documentation of all maintenance performed, parts replaced, and diagnostic activities, ensuring high standards of service and compliance are consistently achieved. Flexibility is important, as travel to Whanganui may be required from time to time to support operations as needed In addition to the above you will: Identify and trouble shoot electrical faults in heavy vehicles, construction machinery, trucks, and other plant such as excavators, graders and loaders. Conduct repairs including fixing or replacing faulty wiring, fuses, batteries, alternators, starter motors, lighting and control modules Conduct preventative maintenance by carrying out inspections and regular servicing to prevent breakdowns and ensure all electrical components are compliant with regulations and site standards. We’re looking for someone with: A relevant Trade Certificate from a reputable training organisation 3 years’ experience as an heavy diesel mechanic with a strong knowledge of Auto-electrical systems.
