Join the WSB Distributors Cummins Team – Auto Electrician with Precision Ag WSB Distributors, a trusted leader in agricultural and industrial machinery across South Australia, is seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Electrician with Precision Agriculture capability to join our Cummins branch on the Eyre Peninsula. This full‑time position is ideal for a technician who is confident with modern electrical systems, eager to work with cutting‑edge Precision Ag technology, and committed to delivering high‑quality service to growers and equipment owners. As equipment becomes increasingly sophisticated, this role will play a key part in supporting electrical diagnostics, steering systems, GPS guidance technology, and on‑farm precision solutions. About the Role As an Auto Electrician with Precision Ag capabilities, you will diagnose and repair electrical systems across a wide range of agricultural machinery and vehicles. Working alongside the Service Manager, Senior Auto Electrician and Precision Ag technicians, you will support both workshop‑based and field‑based service work. You will also assist growers and operators with the setup, calibration, and optimisation of Precision Ag systems. Key responsibilities include: Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in agricultural machinery and vehicles Installing and maintaining wiring, sensors, controllers, lighting, and electronic systems Testing, troubleshooting, and validating system performance using diagnostic tools Supporting Precision Ag installations, calibrations, and software updates Ensuring all work meets WSB’s safety and quality standards Maintaining accurate service records, job notes, and documentation Providing in‑field and workshop‑based customer support Precision Ag Skills – Essential Requirements Applicants must be able to confidently support Precision Agriculture technology, including: Basic understanding of precision agriculture systems, including rate control and section control Basic understanding of auto‑steer and automated steering systems Solid understanding of CAN bus communication networks Basic understanding of GPS, GNSS and telemetry systems Understanding of serial communication General understanding of broadacre farming practices Ability to use software tools to move boundaries, guidance lines, AB lines, and waylines Ability to use software tools to update firmware on machines, consoles, and steering systems Willingness to stay up to date with emerging Precision Ag technologies Willingness to travel and work away when required Strong problem‑solving ability, especially in field‑based diagnostics General ability to drive and operate agricultural machinery These skills are critical to supporting WSB’s growing customer base using advanced guidance, rate control, and data‑driven machinery systems. What We’re Looking For Along with the Precision Ag requirements above, applicants should have: A trade qualification as an Auto Electrician Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving ability Confidence reading wiring diagrams and interpreting technical documentation Proficiency with electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment A positive, professional attitude and strong teamwork skills A current driver’s licence Experience with agricultural machinery is beneficial, but WSB can provide additional training.
