Description MISSION To provide safe, quality automotive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to customer vehicles ESSENTIAL DUTIES Test drive customer vehicles and run diagnostic devices Perform accurate diagnosis of check engine, air bag, antilock, and traction control lights Diagnose and repair issues that cause vibration and noise Perform mechanical repairs of brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, and all other major automotive systems Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas. Perform wheel alignment service Perform state safety and emissions inspections Perform General Service tasks as necessary Maintain tools and a clean work area Embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner Protect company assets Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule Ability to perform physical requirements as listed in job description Other essential and non-essential duties, as assigned by management PAY AND BENEFITS: Total Compensation Range: $15.00 - $40.00 per hour* Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability, Flex-Spending, Health Savings Account, 401(k) with company match. *Automotive Technicians are compensated through a combination of hourly pay and service commission. Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS Minimum Education: Associate's Degree or Trade School Minimum Job-Specific Experience: 3-5 years Management Experience: N/A Driver’s License Required: Yes Other Job-Specific Licenses or Certifications Required: Tire Industry Association ATS certification, ASE certifications, vendor-provided training REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSA’s) Job-Specific KSA’s: Tire & Automotive Industry – Essential industry information including tire brands, designs, treads; proper safety and functional procedures, and relevant customer markets. Mastery of all major automotive emissions, engine management, and electrical systems Mechanical — Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair, and maintenance. Customer Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Tools & Technology KSA’s: Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
