EXPERIENCE:

  • Auto Body Repair: 3 years (preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
  • Ability to work with other repairers within the auto body shop .
  • Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
  • Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

The Auto body Technician is responsible for structural and intricate metal repairs, and will thoroughly disassemble, repair, and reassemble each vehicle while playing a pivotal role to our promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence in Collision Repairs. The Autobody Technician works in alignment with all team members in achieving the repair facilities’ KPIs.

  • Previous experience as an Auto Body Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive repair techniques.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship in completing repairs.
  • Familiarity with autobody procedures and standards is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Steel Structural and Aluminum Structural applicants will be given Priority to being hired on.

Responsibilities

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair damage to vehicle body panels.
  • Vehicle disassembly and reassembly.
  • Repair or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components, and vehicle accessories.
  • Remove and install welded and sectioned parts to vehicle.
  • Assess and repair structural components of a vehicle.
  • Use of frame equipment
  • Remove dents, scratches and other imperfections from vehicle surfaces.
  • Ensure the proper alignment and fit of repair tasks.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed.
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams.
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.
  • File, grind, and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
  • Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs.
  • Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frames assembly, carpets and floor board insulations.
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling.
