We're looking for a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter / OSP Designer to join our engineering team and help design and support the expansion of our Outside Plant (OSP) infrastructure. Job Summary As an AutoCAD Drafter / OSP Designer, you will be responsible for creating accurate and efficient OSP fiber network designs, supporting permit applications, construction drawings, and as-built documentation. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, permitting, and construction teams. Key Responsibilities Create and modify detailed OSP fiber design drawings using AutoCAD and/or GIS platforms. Design aerial and underground fiber routes including conduit, handholes, poles, and splice locations. Prepare construction documents, plan and profile drawings, and fiber schematics. Interpret field survey data, utility records, and other engineering documents. Coordinate with permit agencies and utility companies to support permitting efforts. Maintain as-built records and documentation for ongoing and completed projects. Work with engineers and project managers to ensure timely and accurate project deliverables. Requirements Proficient in AutoCAD (2D drafting) – Civil 3D or Map 3D experience is a plus. 1–3 years of experience in OSP fiber network design or similar utility drafting. Familiarity with aerial and underground OSP design standards. Understanding of NESC, NEC, and local permitting regulations. Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, construction drawings, and utility maps. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience with GIS systems (e.g., ESRI, QGIS) is a plus. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with fiber management systems (e.g., Vetro FiberMap, OSPInsight). Knowledge of permitting processes and working with municipalities or DOTs.
