With multiple locations across the U.S., we pride ourselves on our scientific expertise, client partnerships, and culture of quality and integrity.  Our lab location in Madison, WI is hiring a full-time, Autoclave Technician and Media Tech (40 hours/week).  Deibel Laboratories is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Autoclave Technician to support our mission of protecting public health through food safety testing. This role is critical in managing sterilization processes and ensuring laboratory equipment and supplies are prepared safely and efficiently. The position requires physical strength, resilience in small and hot spaces, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in an environment with strong odors common to microbiological testing. Candidates with construction or hands-on trade experience are strongly encouraged to apply, as the role involves regular equipment upkeep and physically demanding tasks. Compensation: Starting hourly rates at $18 - $20 D.O.E.  Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 10am - 8:30pm(Close) (4/10 hours shifts)- Autoclave Tech                    Tuesday - Friday 7:30am - 6pm * Key Responsibilities • Operate, monitor, and maintain autoclaves for sterilization of glassware, waste, and laboratory equipment. • Safely push, pull, and maneuver loads up to 250 pounds (e.g., autoclave carts, waste containers). • Work effectively in limited space environment and areas with elevated heat during sterilization cycles. • Maintain accurate logs, batch records, and inventory related to autoclave processes. • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of autoclaves and support upkeep of related equipment. • Apply construction or mechanical skills to support troubleshooting, repair, and workspace upkeep. • Follow all safety, biohazard, and chemical handling procedures. • Support lab operations through routine cleaning, stocking, and equipment upkeep. * Required Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or technical training in biology, chemistry, or trades preferred). • Ability to safely push, pull, and maneuver up to 250 pounds. • Comfortable working in confined spaces and high-heat conditions.  • Must not be sensitive to strong odors associated with laboratory testing.  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.  • Mechanical aptitude and/or construction experience required. Desired Qualifications  • Previous laboratory or manufacturing experience.  • Experience operating autoclaves or similar sterilization equipment.  • Familiarity with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and food safety testing environments.  • Experience in routine equipment maintenance or repair. Work Environment  • Exposure to hot, humid, and small spaces when handling autoclave equipment.  • Regular interaction with chemicals, biohazardous materials, and laboratory odors.  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Must live within 30 miles of the lab - no relocation packages available *Prior experience in a bakery, restaurants, barista, steam sterilizers, sanitation, and/or dish washing are a plus. We will train you!
