Position Summary: The Automated Line Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and maintaining automated equipment used in large-scale bread production, to ensure efficient and accurate operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring machines are running the correct programs, meeting production standards, adherence to food safety standards and minimizing downtime. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor automated bread production machinery, including mixers, dividers, proofers, ovens, and packaging systems. Ensure all machines are operating with the correct and most up-to-date recipes and in spec parameters. Set up equipment according to production specifications and adjust machine settings as needed. Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues and escalate complex problems to PLC/Maintenance Technician team. Perform routine checks to ensure proper machine function, product quality and reduce downtime. Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet output and compliance standards. Maintain accurate documentation of machine parameters, recipes, updates, and maintenance activities. Conduct basic cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas. Record production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics. Assist with changeovers between product types or batches. Train operators on proper machine use and basic troubleshooting procedures. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Position Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred) Experience in food manufacturing or automated production environments required. Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of automated systems. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments Strong attention to detail and quality control Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics; ability to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) Maintain regular, consistent attendance & punctuality. Must have a flexible schedule that may require occasional nights, weekends, and holidays. Work Environment: In this position there is a lot of walking, standing and bending. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. There is exposure to extreme temperatures There is exposure to dust and food allergens. Lifting 50 pounds frequently. All Lifts over 50 Pounds require assisted lifting All machines are equipped with Protective guards. All safety protocols must be followed. Reports to: Controls Engineer . Location: On-site/Thornton Compensation is based on the level of experience, other relevant experience, and the requirements of the position.
