AUTOMATION API TESTER:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for an Automation API Tester for a 3-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

AUTOMATION API TESTER - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The project involves the enhancement of the backend for a money movement services initiative, specifically migrating from SQL to MongoDB. The Automation API Tester will collaborate closely with a team of backend API developers, business system analysts, developers, and architects to work on both new features and incremental improvements.

AUTOMATION API TESTER - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• 5+ years of experience as an Automation API Tester, preferably within FI/banking
• 5+ years of experience directly writing automation code in Java without any testing tools
• 5+ years’ experience in developing Integration Tests using frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, and RestAssured

AUTOMATION API TESTER – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• MongoDB experience
• 3+ years of testing RESTful APIs with Postman
• 3+ years of experience in Load Testing (preferably with Locust and LoadRunner)
• Experience in building, integrating, and deploying web services (REST/SOAP/JSON/XML)
• Working knowledge of SQL

• Collaborate closely with a team of backend API developers, business system analysts, developers, and architects
• Develop and update automated test scenarios
• Bring new ideas to improve the test framework
• Create robust, repeatable automated testing solutions for production software
• Develop both positive and negative test scenarios
• Help triage issues uncovered by automated tests or those raised by production support
• Work on a large-scale product to enhance the banking experience for millions of customers
