Description:

The Royal Shakespeare Company is looking to appoint an Automation Assistant for the upcoming production of My Neighbour Totoro to the Gillian Lynne Theatre, London
This position is offered as a fixed term contract, commencing on 10 February 2025.

As Automation Assistant, you will be a key team member, assisting with the safe and efficient running of rehearsals and performance as well as the automation system’s maintenance to the highest possible standard. You will assist in dealing promptly with any automation issues on the production as well as supporting on publicity and access events as required. To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience as a member of an automation team, from fit-up, opening and show running of a large-scale live theatre production with multiple automated scenic elements.
  • Experience with general maintenance and repair of automation systems
  • Practical understanding of theatre staging, stage engineering, rigging, slinging, and flying.

Rehearsals will take place in London, prior to the show transferring to the Gillian Lynne Theatre.
