Description

IDEAS | PEOPLE | TRUST

We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.
We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

WE’LL HELP YOU SUCCEED

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.
You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.
Do you have a passion for efficiency, an eye for detail and want to join the rapidly expanding automation team? Then we need to hear from you!
We are seeking an inquisitive Automation Business Analyst who will work across BDO business streams to identify and document processes suitable for automation. We have an ambition to help the business create capacity through taking away repetitive, manual activity so that they can concentrate on higher value work. At BDO, we recognise that through the adoption of automation technology we can help grow our client base, increase the quality of our business processes, and help reduce operational risk.
You will be part of an expanding team who are using and exploring RPA, BPM, NLP, ML, OCR, and AI technologies to deliver automated solutions for our business streams. Through this role, you will play a vital part in helping to realise the automation vision at a large global accountancy & professional services firm.
As an Automation Business Analyst, you will be responsible for identifying and documenting processes which we can turn into high quality automated solutions that support our business streams. Through this role, you will have opportunities to work with senior stakeholders across BDO and have the chance to have a significant impact on the efficiency of operations at BDO to help advance your career.

In this busy and rewarding role you’ll also:

  • Work closely with business process owners and SME’s to identify potential automation opportunities
  • Analyse, understand, and document the business processes in detail where required and communicate effectively with business counterparts and stakeholders
  • Be an evangelist for automation and to help communicate the benefits of automation across the business
  • Work closely with our Automation Technical Leads, Support Engineers, and business SMEs to help to identify high quality automation opportunities and to provide support to them throughout the SDLC.
  • Aid the business in producing a business case to support an automated solution.
  • Work closely with the Automation Development Team to ensure that processes are developed to the highest possible quality level.
  • Drive process assessments for automation opportunities, including preparing documentation of solutions and coding
  • Be an active member of our Automation Centre of Excellence and to help identify ways to both continuously improve our methods of operation and enhance the quality of our deliveries.
  • Support the Automation Project Manager in the delivery of automation opportunities.

You’ll be someone with:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst delivering IT solutions
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple high-priority projects and meet schedules
  • Proven ability to independently overcome obstacles and resolve complex problems.
  • The ability to identify and remove waste from processes prior to automation
  • Proven Customer Service experience and good communication skills
  • Good written skills and with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation
  • A structured and methodical approach, combined with an inquisitive mind
  • The ability to present technical details to non- technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment

It will be very useful if you have some or all the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of delivering complex or multiple automation projects
  • Knowledge of Automation tools such as UiPath, MS Power Platform and Azure Logic Apps
  • Understanding of Business Process Management - background in documenting processes

You’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business. We’re committed to agile working, and we offer every colleague the opportunity to work in ways that suit you, your teams, and the task at hand.
At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, and we have programmes, resources, and frameworks that provide clarity and structure around career development.
