What You’ll Do: Design manufacturing equipment controls in-house to support early stage prototyping. Participate in first piece builds to characterize and develop both product and process critical parameters to control the manufacturing process. Develop documentation to help ensure supplier work standardization during equipment project execution. Manage the procurement, construction, acceptance, and deployment of production/test equipment. Manage integrators during specification, design, buyoff, installation, and ramp of Electric Engine production/test equipment. Collaborate with cross functional teams including IT, Production Engineering, EH&S, Quality, Operations, and Product Design regularly. Drive actions to maintain or improve equipment performance as measured by product quality, cycle time, and machine availability.. Develop process inputs to MES and SCADA production systems and launch the MES platform with production equipment. Take ownership of full integration including HMI development, data logging, post processing support and system optimization. What You Need: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent & related practical experience. 5+ years related experience in medium to high volume manufacturing. Direct experience programming and troubleshooting industrial automation Experience commissioning and improving Equipment. A record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement. Preventative and Predictive Maintenance through MES algorithms. Strong hands-on and problem solving aptitude. Ability and drive to learn systems quickly. Experience developing production lines from prototype to production. Able to utilize structured problem solving techniques such as DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W) or Eight Disciplines (8D). Proficiency using Beckoff & Allen Bradley PLC's Expertise with HMI and SCADA based systems such as Ignition. Familiarity with CAN, Modbus, EtherCAT, RS232, RS485, OPC-UA communication protocols Proficiency in electrical panel layout design, P&ID development, and electrical schematic documentation using CAD software Experience with high voltage equipment and safety protocols Excellent communicator, both in presentations and written reports. Able to maintain organization and focus in a highly dynamic environment. Bonus Qualifications: Prior internships or full-time experience in Aerospace manufacturing engineering or similar role. (Automotive experience also accepted) Relevant test engineering experience with LabVIEW, Python, etc. Electric motor manufacturing experience. Experience with PLM and ERP software integrations. Familiarity with electrical CAD software (AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, etc.) a plus Experience with DAQ systems including analog/digital I/O, signal conditioning, high-speed data logging.
