JOB SUMMARY

Prepares ladder logic programs (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI) design for custom precision cleaning and wet processing tools for worldwide applications. Performs hands on startup of equipment on-site in a class 100 clean room.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, Electrical or Computer preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and plumbing schematics.
  • Ability to effectively and clearly present and express written and verbal information to individuals and/or groups required.
  • Ability to work and contribute within a team.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to JST practices and JST specific ladder logic and HMI design.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) designs desired. Rockwell Automation experience preferred (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View SE/ME)
  • Ethernet, Modbus, and Serial communication knowledge preferred. Knowledge of SECS/GEM communication protocol a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally if projects permit.
Responsibilities
  • Reviews and assesses project sales specifications with consideration for system safety, functionality, and manufacturing feasibility in order to prepare PLC ladder logic, HMI design, Facility host interface database and associated documentation.
  • Assists with electrical designs, P&ID drawings, and I/O lists, following engineering specifications.
  • Responsible for systems control, state machines, power management, and system functionality including all communications within, to and from the system.
  • Provide hands on support for engineering designs in a manufacturing environment, including start up and troubleshooting of new equipment. Startup of equipment is typically performed in a 100-Class clean room environment.
  • Completes engineering tasks on time to meet system manufacturing timelines and dates for on time project completion.
  • Works cooperatively with all project team members in coordinating designs for accurate and efficient manufacturing. Communicates design constraints and works within the team to achieve effective solutions.
  • Responsible for supporting the field service department with software questions and issues on equipment in the field. This includes analyzing code to find the root cause of errors and revising code as required to resolve the situation while ensuring other aspects of the project are not negatively affected.
  • Assist in continuous process improvements with a willingness to contribute positively to discussions.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and plumbing schematics.
  • Responsible for other duties and tasks as assigned and, in some circumstances, may be completely unrelated to this position.
