Description

Vertiv is looking for a Global Advanced Manufacturing Technology Engineer in Westerville, OH to support automation and lean manufacturing for our switchgear and busway business. This position will lead the strategic analysis & scenario mapping, select and deploy cutting-edge automation technologies, and implement automation “best practices” throughout the global network of Vertiv manufacturing sites. The candidate ensures that there is consistency in the way all automation projects are scoped, procured, executed, and sustained across plants. The individual will drive strategic initiatives and roadmaps into building problem solving culture while maximizing the ROI to improve operational performance at Vertiv manufacturing sites. We can also hire in Detroit, Anderson and Lincoln.
This position will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence, process optimization, and innovation in our manufacturing processes. Responsible for developing and implementing advanced manufacturing strategies, leading cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering – Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation technology or related
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing & VSM experience, 5-7 years.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies, such as automation, robotics, and additive manufacturing
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence and process improvements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in implementing advanced manufacturing technologies + automation and processes
  • Ability to think strategically and drive change in a dynamic environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in advanced manufacturing

Responsibilities
  • Expertise in applying problem solving and process improvement methods as well as tools (NPDI (New Product Development Introduction), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management), MES (Manufacturing Execution System), Traceability, Process Map, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), Gemba and Process Mining)
  • Partner with business units and functions to accelerate development of operational excellence opportunities and delivery of quality and efficiency projects through sustained process improvement and digital transformation.
  • Install lean and problem-solving excellence Globally.
  • Cross-functional experience and exposure to enterprise-wide improvement project(s).
  • The candidate ensures that there is consistency in the way all automation projects are scoped, procured, executed, and sustained across plants.
  • The candidate will lead the Design for Automation process creation & continuous improvement within Vertiv’s New Product Development Introduction process.
  • The individual will drive strategic initiatives and roadmaps related to the integration of automation technologies globally, while maximizing the ROI to improve operational performance at Vertiv manufacturing sites.
  • The individual will be able to adapt lessons learned from vastly different manufacturing processes and reapply the methods to design, layout, specify, and integrate plant processes.
  • In this role, the candidate will be technically capable to drive industry standards and set guidelines for electrical, controls, robotics, system software, and integration.
  • This includes providing leadership for analysis, design of the process, and facilitation of external system integrators to implement projects globally.
  • The candidate will actively lead the research of emerging technologies and usage in the industry to build future competitive advantage for Vertiv’s manufacturing processes.
  • The individual will partner with site operations & engineering managers (and teams), along with close relationships to enterprise lean and EHS, and Digital manufacturing team.
  • Create and enhance current methodologies of automation assessment model for factories and warehouses.
