As a member of our central automation engineering team based in Stockholm, you will be responsible for designing and engineering factory automation systems for various factories. You will collaborate closely with the design team to implement a highly automated production process, as well as with the Software Engineering Team responsible for higher-level systems such as MES, ERP, and PLM. The production environment demands high levels of cleanliness, uptime, quality, production efficiency, and traceability, requiring a blend of proven technologies and innovative solutions.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in Industrial Automation in process-driven or discrete manufacturing industries such as Battery Cell, Automotive, Mining, Chemical, Paper, Semiconductors, Pharma, Food, Packaging, Warehouses, etc.
Experience with sensors, instrumentation, servo drives, and motion technology.
Proficiency with PLC, SCADA, OPC connectivity, and MES interfaces, particularly with Siemens and Beckhoff systems.
Expertise in designing control systems architecture and PLC code to deliver the desired system functionality.
Skilled in writing technical documentation (requirement specifications, functional designs, UML, test cases, test records).
Knowledge of European Directives and relevant ISO, IEC, and safety standards.
Excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills.
Willingness to travel to various offices, factories, and supplier locations.
Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
What can you expect?
Amaris Consulting is proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace. We are committed to promoting diversity within the workforce and creating an inclusive working environment. For this purpose, we welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, beliefs, age, marital status, disability or other characteristics.
Who are we?
Amaris Consulting is an independent technology consulting firm providing guidance and solutions to businesses. With more than 1000 clients across the globe, we have been rolling out solutions in major projects for over a decade – this is made possible by an international team of 7500 people spread across 5 continents and more than 60 countries. Our solutions focus on four different Business Lines: Information System & Digital, Telecom, Life Sciences and Engineering. We’re focused on building and nurturing a top talent community where all our team members can achieve their full potential. Amaris is your steppingstone to cross rivers of change, meet challenges and achieve all your projects with success.
At Amaris, we strive to provide our candidates with the best possible recruitment experience. We like to get to know our candidates, challenge them, and be able to give them proper feedback as quickly as possible. Here’s what our recruitment process looks like:
Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!
Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Of course, you will also get to know Amaris: our culture, our roots, our teams, and your career opportunities!
Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.
As you know, every person is different and so is every role in a company. That is why we have to adapt accordingly, and the process may differ slightly at times. However, please know that we always put ourselves in the candidate’s shoes to ensure they have the best possible experience.
We look forward to meeting you

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement automation systems for production and logistics equipment, including relevant specifications and documentation.
Author and review Engineering Design Documentation, including specifications, functional designs, logic diagrams, test cases, and test records.
Identify and engage key automation solution suppliers, conducting workshops to align them with our automation standards, and collaborate to implement state-of-the-art systems.
Support equipment purchasing specialists and project teams in selecting the most proficient equipment suppliers from an automation perspective.
Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) of equipment and support commissioning processes.
Organize and participate in internal training and workshops.
Provide cost estimations for projects and change requests, and offer input for quoting and planning works.
Review and test suppliers’ code to validate specified functionality and ensure data quality and reliability.
Develop tools to support production, operations, and maintenance teams in running an advanced and efficient factory.
Participate in R&D activities to pilot new technologies and assess their suitability for production environments.
Define and improve factory blueprints, general specifications, and ways of working in collaboration with the extended automation and digitalization teams.
We seek a flexible, curious, and eager-to-learn individual. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our success and see the tangible results of your work. Our organization values self-discipline, a natural talent for making things happen, a sense of quality, friendliness, grit, and a sense of humor.
