QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or hands on work experience in related fields.
  • Proven experience in automation engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with solid modeling software and the creation of shop prints - SolidWorks or Geomagic Design preferred
  • Able to program, maintain, and adjust 6-axis and cartesian robotics - Specifically Universal Robots and Fanuc
  • Experience with hydraulics, robotics, electrical systems, automation, machine maintenance, installation, and repair, including auxiliary equipment and material fundamentals - Experience with injection molding a plus
  • Ability to root cause and troubleshoot complex automation

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Automation Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our production processes through the design and implementation of automated systems. This position involves analyzing existing workflows and identifying opportunities for automation to reduce manual intervention and increase productivity. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and deploy automation solutions that meet both operational and quality standards. Additionally, the role requires ongoing monitoring and optimization of automated systems to ensure they operate at peak performance. Ultimately, the Automation Engineer will contribute to the overall success of the organization by driving innovation and improving operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and implement automated systems and processes to improve production efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing workflows to identify areas for automation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Document automation processes and provide training to stakeholders on new systems, technologies, and how to troubleshoot issues.
  • Upgrading or deactivating existing automation systems
  • Take calculated risks, make strategic, result-oriented decisions, and accepts responsibility for the results (positive or negative)
  • Other duties as assigned
