Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Automation Engineer that will deploy, develop and design automation system strategy for manufacturing processes, including control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and HMI.
Role accountabilities:

Collaborate with process engineers and other stakeholders to define automation requirements and specifications.

Oversee the installation and integration of automation systems with existing manufacturing equipment and processes.

Ensure seamless integration of automation systems with IT infrastructure and data management systems.
-
Ability to understand, write and debug PLC and HMI programs to control manufacturing processes.
-
Configure and program SCADA systems to monitor and control plant operations.
-
Conduct thorough testing and validation of automation systems to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.

Develop and execute test plans, protocols, and reports.
-
Provide ongoing support and maintenance for automation systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.

Create and maintain detailed documentation for automation systems, including user manuals, SOPs, and technical specifications.

Train plant personnel on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.

Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:
-
BS in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in automation engineering, preferably 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sector.

Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI development.

Experience with control system design and integration.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, teamwork abilities and willingness to take on responsibilities beyond the traditional automation engineering role.

Strong communication, interpersonal skills, proficiency in automation software/ tools.
Automation Engineer

Knowledge of GMP/ regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
-
Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
